Funny now, looking at my schedule when back in the summer months I was "laying low" getting ready for the busy months (which is right now)! HA!
So, to catch up...
The LAPQ has been going full steam ahead with concerts at Woodbridge High School, the Renaissance School of the Arts, Chapman University, Occidental College, the Arts & Ideas Festival in Pasadena. We have met energized and enthusiastic audiences, artists, and composers, and are looking forward to a fantastic spring and summer when we will present performances at CalArts, USC, and a Monday Evening Concert in March!
Sharp Three rocked a weekend in Palmdale at the Ani-Magic Animation Convention, and just last weekend at the 1st Annual Asian-American Festival in downtown LA.
I had a great time performing with Eighth Blackbird as part of USC's Visions and Voices arts series. What a fantastic ensemble...a much needed artistic boost in the midst of a hectic fall!
And finally, PARTCH is gearing up to travel to Guadalajara, Mexico the first week of December!
Next thing first, though.....if you read this in time, please come support the Chapman Percussion Ensemble as they perform Thursday night, November 12 in Memorial Hall, on the campus of Chapman University. This will be a fun night, in a great hall, playing beautiful music by Ryan Streber, Nico Muhly, Reich, Tenney, and John Bergamo! Can't beat the price, which is free, and dress code, which is come as you are....its a percussion concert afterall! ;)
